(These were patients attending one of the Belgian Rehab clinics for CFS,
April to July 2004)

"One hundred and seventy-seven patients completed
the questionnaire. Table 1 shows their demographic
characteristics. The latency time between the first
subjectively experienced complaint of fatigue and
the diagnosis of CFS was on average 65.0 months
(standard deviation (SD) = 77.8), with a range of 1 to
408 months. On average it took over five years for a
diagnosis of CFS to be established."
