ACT, MED, RES: Swine Flu, ME/CFS and the CDC: The Wave Begins?

Dr. Ken Friedberg, a board member of the IACFS/ME, just reported the first documented case of someone coming down with chronic fatigue syndrome as a result of getting the swine flu. The swine flu is beginning it's second pass through the Northern Hemisphere in the upcoming months. It's first pass - late in the flu season - was just a knock on the door. This time flu will hit many more households.

It appears that swine flu will hit young people the hardest. Since studies have shown that people who get hit harder by an infection are more likely to come down ME/CFS - it's possible that a wave of young people to be coming down with this disease over the next six months.

What is the CDC - the Centers for Disease Control - doing about the possibility that many young people may soon come down with a chronic disease they could be burdened with the rest of their lives?
