I had intended to present testimony to the CFSAC in October, but when the time came I was far too sick to do so - I had to leave in the middle of the first day. Nevertheless, thanks to Dr. Wanda Jones (who we can thank for getting us the live-feed of the meetings as well as the videotapes that can still be accessed at any time), my written testimony had been distributed because I had sent it in two weeks earlier.
When I sent in the testimony, I had just become aware of the bombshell that had burst over our heads - the revelation in "Science" that Judy Mikovits et al at the Whittemore-Peterson Institute, the Cleveland Clinic, and the National Cancer Institute, had discovered the third known human retrovirus, XMRV, in 60 percent of a large sample of patients diagnosed with CFS.
I have therefore changed the testimony just slightly so that it leads to the new information. But the theme remains: To whom does the CFSAC belong?
The next blog post will be on XMRV and XAND. And I want to apologize for anyone out there named Ian Holmes - the CDC's "Holmes" 1988 definition for CFS was written by GARY Holmes et al.
