RES: MED: Request for delay in sending samples to Vitamin Diagnostics Lab

=
November 20, 2009

=20
Dr. Tapan Audhya, thedirector of the Vitamin Diagnostics lab in New Jersey=
, phoned me today and asked me to put out a requestto the chronic fatigue=
syndrome community to hold off on sending them newsamples for analysis fo=
r the next two months.=20
=20
The reason is that thebuilding in New Jersey inwhich they leased space wa=
s condemned by the local township, and they have hadto move the laboratory=
to another location in New Jersey. They havearranged for a new location,=
but it now appears that it will be about two more monthsbefore they are=
able to satisfy all the administrative requirements, makenecessary modifi=
cations, move in, set up the instruments, recalibrate, passinspections, et=
c.
=20
For further information, you can call the current lab phone number, (732)=
721-1234.

Dr. Audhya and his staffare working to get the lab moved and back into ope=
ration as soon as they can. This disruption also affects the Europeanpare=
nt lab, because much of the analysis of samples sent to that lab wascarrie=
d out in New Jersey. These two labs are the only labs that offerthe meth=
ylation pathways panel, the demand for which has grown rapidly inrecent mo=
nths.
=20
Dr. Audhya regrets thissituation and would appreciate everyone=E2=80=99s=
patience.=20
