Dear Co-Cure Readers:
Please distribute widely:
CFI funded with 10 million dollars from the Hutchins Family Foundation
lists Mady Hornig as a Lead Researcher working with Ian Lipkin.
"Mady Hornig, MA, MD is a physician- scientist working at Columbia
University on the role of microbial, immune, and toxic stimuli in the
development of psychiatric illnesses."
http://cfinitiative.org/lead-researchers/mady-hornig/
"...She also uses epidemiologic approaches to investigate the
immunopathogenesis of neuropsychiatric disorders such as autism,
schizophrenia, mood disorders, AD/HD, PANDAS and *Chronic Fatigue
Syndrome*."
CFS is listed as a neuropsychiatric disorder alongside autism,
schizophrenia, mood disorders, ADHD, PANDAS.
ME/CFS ICC is not a neuropsychiatric disorder, it is a neuroimmune disease.
A careful examination of the list of researchers and their fields of
expertise may reveal the CFI's hypothesis that CFS is a neuropsychiatric
disorder caused by a viral antecedant.
What is the CFS definition the CFI is using in their research?
And do the other researchers Klimas, Bateman, Peterson and Montoya
responsible for patient selection know that CFS is defined by the CFI as
a neuropsychiatric disorder?
Given the current climate of ICD reclassification, ongoing insurance,
disability and government budget cuts, this development is most
unfortuneate.
