Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies

For the second consecutive year, SLaM=92s national services were on
display at the annual British Association for Behavioural and
Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP) conference at the University of
Surrey, Guildford.
The four-day conference was held from July 20 =96 23, and was attended
by more than 1200 mental health specialists from the United Kingdom
and abroad.
The team distributed copies of the new National Services Directory, a
guide to our mental health services for adults across the UK. There
were also copies of the individual service booklets available for
delegates.
In addition to hosting a stand, several SLaM staff members gave
presentations at the conference, including:

Dr Elaine Hunter =96 Working with the consequences of childhood sexual
abuse in adults with psychosis
Dr Victoria Mountford =96 Bodywise: developing a new body image
treatment for inpatients with anorexia nervosa
Emma Warnock-Parkes =96 Treating OCD when the problem is beneath the
surface: The cognitive treatment of a case of pure mental
contamination
The annual conference provided information about the latest research
and treatment options for a range of mental health topics.
