This study used patients who satisfied the so-called "empiric"
criteria for CFS (Reeves et al., 2005).
They were drawn from the two-day study (in 2003) at the end of the
Wichita CFS Surveillance Study
[studies before the two-day study using Wichita CFS Surveillance study
(1997-2000) used CFS patients as defined by the Fukuda criteria that
were operationalised in a more normal manner]
