thought I'd draw people's attention to the following message.
With careful "vote management", four ME-type charities qualified for
the second round. This means that if each of them were to get $2,500
during the matching period in donations, Vivint would give another
$10,000 ($2,500 x 4) to the causes.
Please circulate this far and wide so the best use as possible is made
of this appeal.
The four groups, in alphabetical order, are:
- IACFS/ME International Association for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome & ME
http://www.iacfsme.org
- National ME/FM Action Network http://www.mefmaction.net
- Nightingale Research Foundation http://www.nightingale.ca/
- The Whittemore Peterson Institute for Neuro-Immune Disease
http://www.wpinstitute.org
(Websites are given so people can find out about the organisations if
necessary - donating is not done through the sites according to the
info below).
Please, no questions to me on this. In particular, I don't know when
the voting period is.

dollar for dollar

Vivint to announce matching periods for Gives Back Phase II
Vivint awarded $250,000 to worthwhile charities in 2010 as a part of
the Vivint Gives Back Project. The project was such a success that
Vivint announced its return in 2011 with bigger cash awards as well as
a way to guarantee that each charity can earn money.
Competing charities are currently competing for the $250,000 grand
prize as well as the $100,000 awarded to each regional winner. Last
year only winners walked away from the competition with extra money to
help their organizations. This year, however, matching periods give
you the opportunity to guarantee that your favorite charity earns
extra funds no matter what.
Matching Periods
Here=92s how the matching periods work. Vivint will announce matching
periods at various times throughout Phase II of the project.
Announcements will come through the contest website, Facebook, and
Twitter, and will be given 24 hours before each matching period.
Matching periods will last for a total of 48 hours. During this time
you can donate up to $50 per person per charity and Vivint will match
that donation dollar for dollar up to $2,500 per organization. This
means that with your donations, every charity can earn up to $5,000.
How to Donate
Donating to your favorite charity is simple. Each organization will
have a donate button on its Gives Back Project web page. Once you have
clicked on the button, you=92ll be taken to a page where you can enter
the amount you want to donate, and your credit card billing and
address information. And don=92t worry=97it=92s a completely secure process=
.
This will allow you to donate directly to your favorite charity and
have your donations matched by Vivint.
It has never been easier to earn money for the charity closest to your
heart. Pay close attention to the matching periods, and spread the
word.
