*Medical Research Council progress*
The Medical Research Council (MRC) recently launched a call for=20
proposals to support high quality, innovative research to increase the=20
current knowledge base of CFS/ME and draw in expertise and resource from=20
related fields. Applications were required to address the mechanisms=20
underlying chronic changes related to CFS/ME particularly focusing on=20
one or more of the following areas: autonomic dysfunction, cognitive=20
symptoms, fatigue, immune dysregulation, pain and sleep disorders. The=20
application deadline was 7 June and up to =A31.5 million will be made=20
available to support research proposals; the MRC expects to announce any=20
awards towards the end of the year.
